Wesley UNM

Rev. Michele L. Walton serves as Executive Director of the Wesley Foundation and is a commissioned deacon in The United Methodist Church. She is passionate about creating a Christ-centered community where college students are welcomed, supported, challenged, and encouraged to grow in their faith while discovering their God-given purpose.

Rev. Michele earned her Master of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C., where she also completed certificates in Theology and the Arts and Emergent Worship. She is also a proud United States Army veteran whose experiences have shaped her commitment to servant leadership, resilience, and building authentic community.

Rev. Michele believes campus ministry is a place where students can ask honest questions, build meaningful relationships, deepen their relationship with Christ, and learn to live out their faith in everyday life. She is committed to fostering a culture of radical hospitality where every student is welcomed, valued, and invited to grow spiritually, serve others, and develop as a leader.

Working alongside students, campus partners, local churches, alumni, and supporters, Rev. Michele is dedicated to advancing the Wesley Foundation’s mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. She is honored to serve the Wesley Foundation community and is excited to continue building a vibrant ministry where students are equipped to lead lives of faith, compassion, service, and purpose.
